Christmas is here!

Wow got lots of neato stuff. Must have been good but wasn't. Anywho I have been just chilling this holiday season. I am going to try and get in a show here someday. I was invited to see Aerosmith a couple of weeks back but didn't get to go. I want to see some one play. Also I didn't get one thing that I wanted and it is because I didn't ask...a guitar. I have been with out my old one for some time now. I want to get just a simple accousitc and jam on that SB!

Merry Christmas!

Musi and Religion!

As I promised in an earlier post that I was going to talk a bit on musi and religion. I wrote a short essay on the subject at The University of California @ Riverside for a Cultural Anthropology class. I found many similarities between the making of musi and religion. It is funny how the two interact and are at the same time different parts of a whole entity. Just as religion tries to find the harmony of God and mankind, musi tries to find the harmony of the Universe and mankind. In the search for God one needs to take into account his finger prints on the Earth, solar system and also the Universe. So in finding that harmony between mankind and that being or Power that is God religion and musi are in the pursuit of the same end. Religion is something that is practiced, in the rituals and rights, religion builds a context in which man and God function. In that same light musi itself is a practice to the people through the harmony of the precision of drums, guitars and voice. Band practice could be seen as a type of ritual and the right of passage between being a nobody to being that stage person who is harmonizing with the crowd.

Interesting interplays between religion and musi if I might say so.

Look into it you can find many similarities if you know what to look for!

Thanks and till next time!

Back to the Beasties!

I have and will probably always enjoy listening to the Beastie Boys! They were at first a punk band that delved into the world of rap and now even do some hip hop! They are into experimentation -- Experimental Punk! Explosive ~~ HAHAHAH. If you haven't gotten a chance to see the Beastie's in action as I haven't then check out there webpage @ Beastie Boys

I think sometimes that they should be as big as the Beatles and probably are. I love listening to my musi. I sometimes get a little beastie over my musi. If people don't like it F**** them and tell them to put ear muffs or plugs in. I am going to listen to what I want to not what every other Mo Fo wants to listen to.

People are so selfish.

Thanks for listening,

Found some 'Descendents' Songs!

God those 'Descendants' songs are a hard find on LimeWire. I did manage to get a couple three out of the PS engine. I remember those songs as a young adult. I had alot of fun while listening to those songs they always made me feel like there was always something more to life than just the random nuts and bolts. Another band that made me feel the same way but in a more malevolent tone was 'Tool'. The 'Tool Band' always brought a little fear to me as their musi is very dark and has a style that can make you feel very small and at the same time afraid. Bad musi if your smoking pot you'll get paranoid that the little aliens and other things that go bump in the night might be after you. Maynard (the lead singer of 'Tool') has a way to put words into motion but on the opposite spectrum of what most people think about. With the 'Descendants' one never turns off el radio with out feeling loved and you always want to go back to that. Just a lighter but serious tone out of the 'Descendants'.

I got my Entertainment...did you?

I just got back from visiting my little nieces'. They are a joy to everyone. I love them without question. I have been lacking on writing here at my blog space. I wanted to look up 'The Descendent's' on lime wire. I am going to do that today and put them on my MP3. Need more musi. I am at the moment listening to my John Lennon Legions Album. I hope that all of you are having a great holiday season.

MUSI -- Forumula for Harmony?

I haven't found a lot of literature on building harmony in musi...or if that is even the right word. I think that there are many different elements that go into making musi musi. Although I know that it can simply be done just by offering the talents that you may or may not posses yet. I want to learn musi theory...so if there is anyone out there that has some advice let me know as it would be highly appreciated!

Till next time,

Greatful Dead -- Dead Heads!

You know what a Dead Head is? I think that it has to do with flowers and when they grow and die then they become dead heads? I know the term used for followers of the Greatful Dead but I still think of it as dying flowers. I don't know but I like the Dead their tunes are as pleasing the ear as a the sounds the earth makes. No matter what I think that the Dead are a great band...it would have been a trip to meet Jerry Garcia in life...I think he would be this kind round faced gentleman. Anywho I have been listening to them for sometime now started with an old friend...now it is up to me to continue the legacy. There are other bands out there that mimic the Dead...'Phish' is one and their musi sounds great too!

Check out the Deads site...@ dead

Also check out Phish's site...@ Phish

Thanks and keep on Rocking
